Description

Let’s face it, most people don’t want to shell out the$500-$1000 for a Bird 43 with peak reading kit and all the elements to operate a cb or amateur radio.  The Radio Schack SWR/Power meter has been a favorite for decades.  If we’re simply comparing accuracy of meters with non-voted peak reading circuits, I’ll take this baby over Dosy, Maco and PDC.   Compact, simple and light weight are other qualities.   Though I like the big face meters, when it comes to measuring watts and SWR’s, the Radio Shack impresses me.

This power meter allows you to tune your Ham or other amateur radio system to perform at its best. Its standing wave ratio (SWR) function helps you trim your antenna to the precise length that produces the maximum transmit power. Use it’s power meter function to measure your radio’s peak envelope power (PEP) or average power.
